Can Bus Passengers File a Claim After a Crash in Florence County, SC?

Yes, bus passengers can file a personal injury claim after a crash in Florence County, SC. As a passenger, you are not at fault, which puts you in a strong legal position from the start. The claim may be filed against the bus company, the driver, or another party, depending on the specifics of the crash

When bus companies operate in South Carolina, they must use reasonable care to protect passengers. That includes safe driving, proper maintenance, driver training, and compliance with safety rules. If they fail to do that, the company may be responsible.

If a bus crash injures several people, insurance issues can become complicated quickly. With 25 people aboard and five hospitalizations, multiple claims may involve the same coverage.

After passengers become trapped inside a bus, the harm may go beyond the initial impact. Trapped passengers can face added risks from smoke, fuel leaks, and delayed medical care. That delay can make serious injuries worse.

Before you file a personal injury claim in South Carolina, remember that injured victims have three years from the crash date. In mass injury cases, evidence can disappear quickly. Early action helps preserve records, witness accounts, and vehicle evidence.

A bus accident lawyer in South Carolina can identify liable parties, contact each insurer, and manage your claim. An attorney also tracks deadlines and gathers evidence. That support keeps your case from getting lost in the process.
