What Legal Options May Be Available After a Construction Worker Is Killed in a Crash in Oconee County, SC?

Construction Flagger Killed in Crash on SC 28 in Oconee Co., SC

When a construction worker is killed after being struck by a vehicle in South Carolina, surviving family members may have legal options if another party's negligence contributed to the death.

A potential wrongful death claim may seek compensation for certain financial losses, including funeral expenses, medical costs, and lost financial support.

Evidence from the crash investigation may help establish how the collision occurred. Police reports, witness statements, photographs, traffic-control records, vehicle data, work-site documentation, and information about road conditions may be relevant when determining whether another driver or party contributed to the fatal crash.

Families should preserve documents related to the death and avoid discarding records that could later become relevant. Funeral expenses, medical bills, insurance correspondence, employment records, and other financial documents may help demonstrate the losses connected to the death.

If a family is considering legal action, a wrongful death attorney can review the available evidence and explain how South Carolina law may apply. Legal guidance may also help identify potentially responsible parties, preserve relevant records, communicate with insurers, and evaluate a potential wrongful death claim.

Losing a family member in circumstances like these raises questions that can feel overwhelming to sort through alone. Our team at The Arndt Law Firm has experience helping families understand wrongful death options in South Carolina.
