Driver and Passenger Injured in Rollover on I-95 in Colleton Co., SC

Colleton County, SC (August 31, 2026) – A driver suffered critical injuries and a passenger was hurt on Saturday afternoon, August 29, in a rollover crash on I-95 near the 50-mile marker.

Colleton County Fire-Rescue said the single-vehicle wreck happened around 3:48 p.m. on the southbound side of I-95. Officials said a pickup truck left the roadway, overcorrected, and rolled over at least once.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Firefighter-paramedics stabilized the driver at the scene before transport. A passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. 

Severe thunderstorms prevented a medical helicopter from responding, and both people were taken by Colleton County Fire-Rescue to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the wreck, with assistance from the Colleton County Sheriff's Office.
