
Conway, SC (July 28, 2026) – A driver suffered life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash involving a South Carolina Highway Patrol vehicle on Church Street at 16th Avenue in Conway early Tuesday, July 28.
According to authorities, the Horry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:00 a.m. to a crash involving a black Ford Ranger and a South Carolina Highway Patrol vehicle. Officials said the pickup truck failed to stop for emergency lights, leading to a pursuit that ended on Church Street near 16th Avenue.
Authorities said a trooper performed a PIT maneuver in an attempt to stop the truck. The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn several times and eject the driver. The injured driver was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The trooper involved in the incident was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
