DUI Suspect Strikes Officer in Crash on US-52 in Moncks Corner, SC

Moncks Corner, SC (August 28, 2026) – A police officer was hurt on Wednesday night, August 26, when a vehicle struck his patrol car while he was inside it on Highway 52 near Barony Street. The strike happened around 9:30 p.m., according to the Moncks Corner Police. 

After the crash, the officer was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment. He was released after receiving care.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. State troopers took over the collision investigation.
