Five Hospitalized After Crash on River Oaks Dr in Carolina Forest, SC

Carolina Forest, SC (August 7, 2026) – Five people were taken to the hospital on Friday morning, August 7, after a three-vehicle collision blocked lanes on River Oaks Drive near Carolina Forest Boulevard. The wreck happened shortly before 7 a.m., according to Horry County Fire.

One of the vehicles struck a utility pole, which left at least one person trapped inside. Emergency units carried out extrication work to free the occupant before transport.

Emergency units were dispatched around 6:56 a.m. and worked to clear the roadway as lanes stayed blocked near the intersection.

Investigators are still working to determine what led to the pileup.
