Loris, SC (September 3, 2026) – Four people were injured in a four-vehicle wreck near East Highway 9 and Camp Swamp Road in Loris on Thursday, September 3. The collision was reported at about 10:21 a.m.
Horry County Fire Rescue said one or more people were confined after the crash. Extrication operations were used to free them, and four people were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
We hope those injured receive the care they need and make steady recoveries.

When several vehicles are involved, determining who ultimately pays can take longer because responsibility may be divided among multiple drivers. Insurers often review each driver’s actions before deciding which policies should contribute to an injury claim.
If you use health insurance while a claim is pending, your insurer may pay covered medical expenses according to your plan. That does not necessarily end the issue, because the insurer may later seek reimbursement from money recovered from another party.
Depending on your auto policy, medical payments coverage may also help with certain crash-related bills without requiring a final fault decision first. The amount available depends on the coverage purchased and the terms of the policy, including any limits or exclusions that apply in your case.
Because several drivers may share responsibility, more than one liability policy can sometimes become relevant. The available coverage will depend on who contributed to the wreck, whose vehicles were involved, and the insurance carried on those vehicles.
As treatment continues, keep track of bills, explanations of benefits, prescription costs, and other medical charges tied to the collision. Clear records can make it easier to understand what has been paid, what remains outstanding, and what should be included in a claim.
During the claims process, a South Carolina car accident attorney can review the available insurance and help identify which parties may be responsible for unpaid medical expenses.
