Head-On Crash on Hord Rd in York Co., SC Leaves 1 Killed, 1 Injured

York County, SC (August 31, 2026) – One person died and another was hurt Sunday afternoon, August 30, in a head-on collision on Hord Road near the intersection of Turkey Creek Road.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said troopers responded around 12:52 p.m. to reports of a two-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation found a Ram pickup truck was traveling north on Hord Road when it was struck head-on by a southbound Honda Accord.

The Ram's driver was taken by EMS to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The Honda's driver died at the scene. Details on the deceased have not yet been released.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the wreck.
