Horry Co., SC – Two Injured in Crash on Robert M. Grissom Pkwy Opas Above Hwy 31
November 23, 2025

Horry County, SC (November 23, 2025) – Emergency responders were dispatched on Friday, November 21, to a two-vehicle crash that left two people injured on the overpass above Highway 31 along Robert M. Grissom Parkway. The crash occurred around 7:36 p.m., prompting multiple Horry County Fire Rescue units to respond to the scene.

When crews arrived, they found two damaged vehicles blocking the roadway on the overpass. First responders quickly assessed the occupants and determined that two individuals required transport to a nearby hospital for treatment. While the extent of their injuries has not yet been released, authorities confirmed that both were transported for further medical care.

Two additional people involved in the crash declined ambulance transport after being evaluated at the scene, signing medical waivers. Fire Rescue crews worked to manage traffic, secure the crash site, and ensure that no further hazards were present as law enforcement began investigating the cause of the collision.

As of now, details regarding what led to the two-vehicle crash have not been disclosed, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with everyone injured in this crash, and we wish them a full and quick recovery.

Two-Vehicle Crashes in Horry County and Legal Options for Victims

Two-vehicle collisions are among the most common types of traffic accidents in Horry County. High-traffic corridors near major roadways and busy tourist routes often see increased crash risks due to congestion, distracted driving, and merging vehicles. According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, Horry County consistently ranks among the top counties in the state for traffic collisions and injury-related crashes each year.

Even seemingly moderate crashes can result in injuries such as whiplash, concussions, soft tissue damage, broken bones, and back or neck trauma. Victims may initially feel only mild discomfort but later develop significant symptoms requiring medical treatment, diagnostic imaging, or rehabilitation.

This is why prompt medical evaluation, whether or not symptoms are immediately severe, is crucial for documenting injuries and protecting long-term health.

Accidents involving multiple occupants can also complicate insurance claims. Disputes may arise over who is at fault, whether both drivers contributed to the crash, or how damages should be allocated among the parties. Insurance companies may attempt to minimize payouts or shift blame, making the process stressful for victims already dealing with physical recovery.

Working with an experienced attorney can help ensure that victims understand their rights and receive fair compensation. A lawyer can investigate the crash scene, obtain police reports and witness statements, review any available traffic camera or dash cam footage, and work with accident reconstruction experts to understand exactly what happened.

They can also communicate with insurance companies on the victim’s behalf and pursue compensation for medical bills, lost income, rehabilitation costs, and pain and suffering.
