Log Truck Overturns in Five-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 701 in Conway, SC

Conway, SC (August 21, 2026) – A log truck overturned Friday afternoon, August 21, in a five-vehicle wreck that shut down South Highway 701 near Pottery Landing Drive in Conway and also involved a box truck.

Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched around 11:42 a.m. Three people were taken to the hospital, and two others signed waivers declining transport.

All lanes of South Highway 701 remained blocked as crews worked an extended response, and drivers were urged to avoid the area. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating, with the Horry County Police Department assisting.
