Two-Vehicle Crashes in Loris
Two-vehicle collisions are a frequent concern throughout Loris and the surrounding communities in Horry County. Intersections like Hwy 66 and Cherry Hill Rd often see steady traffic from local drivers, school routes, and agricultural vehicles. With many types of vehicles sharing the same roadway, even small errors can lead to significant crashes.
Horry County has seen an increase in traffic across its rural roadways as the region continues to grow. Narrow lanes, limited shoulders, and reduced visibility at certain intersections add to the risk of collisions. In fact, state crash data shows that rural intersections remain one of the most common locations for serious injury crashes across the country. Many of these incidents involve factors such as distracted driving, failure to yield, or misjudging another vehicle’s speed, issues that frequently contribute to two-vehicle wrecks in developing areas like Loris.
Some collisions, such as the one reported here, involve trapped occupants. When a person becomes confined inside a damaged vehicle, firefighters must use specialized tools and techniques to perform extrication. This process can take time, especially when the vehicle structure is heavily compromised. Quick response from rescue crews is essential to prevent further injury.
Injuries from two-vehicle crashes range from minor cuts to serious trauma. Victims may suffer from broken bones, head injuries, or internal damage, depending on the force of the impact. Even when injuries appear mild at first, they can worsen over the following days. Symptoms such as dizziness, abdominal pain, or increasing stiffness can signal deeper issues. Medical evaluation is necessary to ensure proper treatment and avoid complications, as early diagnosis often leads to better long-term recovery outcomes.
After being injured in a crash, victims often face financial strain from medical bills, ambulance fees, and time away from work. A skilled
car accident attorney can help them understand their rights and pursue compensation for medical care, lost income, pain and suffering, and vehicle damage. Legal support is also important when insurance companies delay or dispute claims.
