Loris, SC (September 27, 2026) – Six people were injured after a car and a motorcycle collided near West Highway 19 and South Green Sea Road in Loris on Saturday, September 26. The collision was reported at about 7:57 p.m.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded to assist those involved. Six people were taken to a nearby hospital, including two with critical injuries. Traffic lanes were blocked while crews worked nearby.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating what caused the crash, with assistance from the Horry County Police Department.
Our thoughts are with everyone injured, and we hope they receive the care they need during recovery.

When medical care begins, South Carolina’s at-fault system generally places financial responsibility on the driver who caused the crash. Your health insurance or medical payments coverage may help with treatment costs while the liability claim is being resolved.
As your recovery continues, keep medical records, bills, and photographs of visible injuries together. These materials can connect your treatment to the crash and show how your physical harm developed over time.
Even if the evidence shows you did not cause the crash, an insurer may still try to place some of the blame on you. Decisions about fault should be based on the facts of the collision rather than assumptions about motorcyclists.
Under South Carolina’s modified comparative fault rule, your compensation is reduced by your percentage of responsibility. If you are more than 50% at fault, you cannot recover damages from another party.
Because your losses may extend beyond treatment costs, compensation may include lost income, motorcycle repairs, and pain and suffering caused by the crash.
If an insurer unfairly places too much blame on you, a motorcycle accident lawyer can review the evidence and challenge how fault is being divided. An attorney can also negotiate with the insurer to protect the compensation you may be entitled to receive.
