Multiple Hurt on Apartment Fire on Lakeside Rd in Greenville, SC

Greenville, SC (July 10, 2026) – On Friday, July 10, a fire broke out at an apartment building in the Gantt community and, as a result, left at least eight people hurt. The incident forced several residents to jump from the second floor to escape.

The fire was reported at 1 Lakeside Road at the Eagle Trace Apartments. Multiple people jumped from the second floor as flames spread through the building, according to the South Greenville Fire. 

Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment. Emergency units checked on the availability of a medical helicopter for at least one person hurt in the fall.

A large number of emergency units remain on site, with additional fire engines requested to continue the response. 

The cause of the fire has not been determined. This incident remains under active investigation.
