July 15, 2026

Mount Pleasant, SC (July 15, 2026) – A police officer was injured, and multiple people were evaluated after separate vehicle crashes occurred Tuesday morning, July 14, on 526 Eastbound in Mount Pleasant, according to authorities.

Police said officers first responded to a collision involving a vehicle that lost control on an elevated roadway before crashing onto a lower road. While responding to that incident, an officer was involved in a separate collision.

The officer was transported by EMS for treatment of moderate injuries, while the other driver and two passengers declined ambulance transport but went to a hospital for evaluation.

Authorities said the driver involved in the first crash declined medical transport. Both incidents remain under investigation.

We hope everyone hurt in this wreck makes a full and swift recovery.

What Should Someone Do After Being Injured in a South Carolina Car Accident?

Fleeing Suspect Crashes Into Two Vehicles During Police Chase

After being injured in a South Carolina car accident, individuals should seek medical attention, report the crash, document available evidence, and notify their insurance company when appropriate.

A car accident attorney can explain how these steps may help protect a claim and what legal options may be available.

Following a collision, important information may include photographs of vehicle damage, witness statements, police reports, medical records, and details about the road conditions.

This evidence can help establish what happened before, during, and after the crash. Preserving documentation early may also help prevent important details from being lost.

Medical records and expense documentation can be especially important after an accident. Even when injuries are initially described as moderate or appear manageable, follow-up care and related costs may become part of an injury claim.

Keeping records of appointments, treatment, vehicle repairs, and communication with insurance providers can help demonstrate the impact of the collision.

A personal injury lawyer familiar with South Carolina law can assist by reviewing the available evidence, communicating with insurance companies, and explaining the claims process after a crash.

Legal guidance may also clarify how fault is determined, what compensation may potentially be available, and what steps may help protect an injured person's rights under South Carolina law.
