One Dead After House Fire on Oakland Rd in West Ashley, SC

West Ashley, SC (August 7, 2026) – One person was killed on Thursday night, August 6, after a house fire broke out in the 2300 block of Oakland Road in West Ashley.

As reported by the St. Andrews Fire Department, the fire started at approximately 8:39 p.m. Fire crews arrived to find a single-family home burning, while neighbors reported that someone could still be inside.

Crews entered the home to search for the missing occupant as other crews worked to extinguish the flames from outside. The fire was extinguished in approximately 15 minutes, and one person was found dead on the first floor.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the St. Andrews Chief Fire Marshal.
