One Dead After Pedestrian Crash on Horseshoe Rd in Horry Co., SC

Horry County, SC (August 14, 2026) – A pedestrian died on Thursday night, August 13, after being struck by a GMC Yukon on Horseshoe Road near Greenhead Road in the Little River area.

The crash happened around 8:33 p.m. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2016 GMC Yukon was traveling east on Horseshoe Road when it struck a pedestrian.

EMS took the pedestrian to a hospital, where the person later died. The pedestrian's name had not been released, and no one inside the GMC was hurt.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
