Conway, SC (July 31, 2026) – One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Friday morning, July 31, after a two-vehicle collision blocked lanes on Highway 544 near Myrtle Ridge Drive.
The Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the area around 9:04 a.m. Conway-bound traffic on Highway 544 was blocked while emergency units worked to clear the wreck.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating. Drivers were asked to avoid the area, both to limit delays and for the safety of those working at the scene.
We hope the injured person has a smooth recovery.

When fault is shared, an injured person's compensation gets reduced by their own percentage of responsibility, which makes the fault determination itself one of the most important parts of any claim.
Injuries from these crashes can range from bruising and whiplash to more serious harm like fractures or head trauma, and the assigned fault percentage can directly affect how much of the resulting medical care ends up covered.
Insurance adjusters sometimes lean toward assigning more fault to the injured party than the facts actually support. A car accident lawyer can push back on that kind of assessment by gathering witness statements, traffic footage, and other evidence that more accurately reflects how the crash happened.
At The Arndt Law Firm, we built our practice around helping South Carolina residents work through these types of claims. We can walk you through how comparative fault might apply to your specific situation.
