Horry County, SC (September 11, 2026) – One person was hurt on Thursday afternoon, September 10, in a two-vehicle wreck near Carolina Forest Boulevard and Plumgrass Trace.
The Horry County Fire Rescue responded around 12:04 p.m. to the collision, which blocked lanes and backed up traffic toward Highway 501.
The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The exact cause is still being sorted out by the South Carolina Highway Patrol .
We hope the person hurt in this wreck is back on their feet soon.

Once a claim is opened after a car accident, the at-fault driver's liability insurer typically takes the lead in reviewing what happened before deciding how much, if anything, to offer.
People hurt in these crashes end up dealing with more than the initial hospital visit, including follow-up appointments, physical therapy, and time away from work while they recover. Those costs can add up quickly, and insurers sometimes make an early settlement offer before the full extent of a person's recovery is clear.
Despite South Carolina requiring drivers to carry liability coverage, those minimum limits don't always cover the full cost of someone's medical care, especially after a hospital visit. This is where underinsured motorist coverage can come into play. This coverage allows an injured person to pursue their own policy for the difference if the at-fault driver's insurance falls short.
In these situations, a car accident lawyer can step in to review both policies, calculate what a claim is actually worth, and push back if an insurer's initial offer doesn't reflect the true cost of treatment and lost time.
