Two-vehicle events on a high-speed roadway like Highway 501 can result in a wide range of injuries, from minor strains to more serious trauma.
The severity of an injury typically depends on factors such as speed, the angle of impact, and whether a vehicle occupant was properly restrained.
Common injuries in this type of case include whiplash and other neck strain, back and spinal injuries, concussions, and fractures to the arms or legs. Soft-tissue injuries are especially common and are not always obvious right away, sometimes taking hours or days to fully develop.
More severe cases can involve head trauma or internal injuries that require extended hospital care and follow-up treatment.
Some injuries take time to appear, which is why it is so important to seek medical evaluation soon after this kind of case for both health and documentation purposes. A car accident lawyer can help connect medical records to a claim and explain what types of compensation may be available for both immediate and long-term care.
