One Killed in Hit-and-Run on Hwy 501 in Conway, SC

Conway, SC (August 20, 2026) – One person died in a collision at Highway 501 and Enoch Road in Conway on Wednesday evening, August 19. The wreck occurred at about 9:20 p.m.

Investigators said an unknown vehicle was traveling west on Highway 501 while a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe headed north. The Tahoe’s driver tried to avoid a collision before leaving the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch, and overturning.

The unknown driver left without stopping. Four people were inside the Tahoe when it overturned.

One passenger died following the wreck. The Tahoe’s three other occupants were not injured.
