The Conway Fire Department rushed to the scene to contain the fire and evaluate those involved. One person was injured, though officials have not shared the full extent of their injuries.
It is not clear what caused the fire, and it remains to be investigated.
Our thoughts are with the person as they recover.

When a building fire causes injuries, one of the first questions is who may be legally liable for the property. In South Carolina, the answer can depend on whether the building was owner-occupied, rented, or run by a management company.
The South Carolina Residential Landlord and Tenant Act requires landlords to follow applicable building and housing codes that affect health and safety and to keep electrical, plumbing, and similar systems in good working order.
Owners of other property types may owe a duty of reasonable care to lawful visitors, and a claim usually turns on whether the owner knew or should have known about a hazard. Fault can be shared, and under South Carolina's modified comparative negligence rule, a claimant found more than 50 percent at fault is generally barred from recovering.
Documents such as leases, repair requests, inspection records, and maintenance invoices may show who handled upkeep before a fire started. South Carolina generally allows three years to file a personal injury lawsuit, so gathering those records early can matter. A personal injury lawyer can help request and review them and explain which parties may be worth examining.
