Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Hwy 707 in Horry Co., SC

Horry County, SC (August 15, 2026) – A 57-year-old woman lost her life early Thursday morning, August 13, after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross Highway 707. 

As reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 11:33 p.m. along Highway 707 near Dick Pond Road. Investigators reported that a driver operating a Toyota sedan struck the woman as she was in the roadway.

Emergency medical personnel provided on-scene care before rushing her to a local hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. She ultimately succumbed to her injuries around 1:00 a.m. Thursday.
