Beaufort, SC (November 11, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a traffic accident with injuries on Monday, November 10, near Savannah Highway and Parkers in Beaufort County. The crash, which occurred around 1:16 p.m., prompted a rapid response from local fire and EMS units to assist the injured.

According to preliminary information from emergency dispatch reports, at least one person sustained injuries in the collision. Responders arrived at the scene to find multiple vehicles involved and debris scattered across the roadway.

Medical teams immediately provided aid to the injured victim before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.

Authorities temporarily closed part of Savannah Hwy while first responders cleared the scene and ensured public safety. Tow trucks were called in to remove damaged vehicles, and traffic in the area experienced significant delays for nearly an hour.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Beaufort County deputies are investigating the cause of the crash. Witnesses reported heavy afternoon traffic in the area at the time of the accident, which may have played a role in the collision.

Residents and commuters traveling through the Savannah Hwy corridor were advised to use alternate routes until the road was fully reopened later in the afternoon.

We wish the injured individual and everyone involved a full and speedy recovery.

Car Accidents on South Carolina Highways

ree

Crashes on major roadways like Savannah Hwy and SC-128 are, unfortunately, a common occurrence in South Carolina. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety reports that over 140,000 collisions occur annually across the state, with thousands leading to serious injuries. High traffic corridors like those connecting Beaufort, Charleston, and its surrounding areas are particularly prone to accidents due to heavy commuter and commercial traffic.

Weather conditions, distracted driving, and speeding often contribute to highway collisions. Even a brief lapse in attention, such as checking a phone or adjusting a GPS, can result in a severe crash. Intersection and highway accidents frequently cause significant injuries such as broken bones, head trauma, internal injuries, and whiplash. Victims often face long recovery periods, emotional distress, and mounting medical expenses.
