Little River, SC (December 17, 2025) — Emergency crews responded on Monday, December 15, to a four-vehicle crash in the area of River Oaks Drive and White River Drive, where one vehicle overturned and traffic lanes were blocked due to the active crash response.

The Horry County Fire Rescue arrived at approximately 2:17 p.m. to find multiple vehicles involved, including at least one that had flipped. Officials confirmed that one person sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation and will work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash. At this time, authorities have not released additional details.

We extend our thoughts to those affected by this incident and wish the hospitalized patient a full and steady recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Collisions In Horry County

Four-vehicle crashes like the one along River Oaks Drive can cause significant disruption, especially in areas near residential subdivisions, commercial zones, and coastal corridors where traffic volumes tend to peak throughout the day. Intersections and multi-lane routes in Horry County frequently experience a mix of local drivers, commuters, and seasonal visitors, increasing crash risk when visibility, speed, or driver awareness are compromised.

Common causes of multi-vehicle collisions include:

  • Distracted driving or texting behind the wheel.

  • Tailgating or failing to maintain a safe distance.

  • Sudden braking by one vehicle.

  • Unsafe lane changes or merging.

  • Speeding in congested areas.

Additionally, when a vehicle overturns, the forces involved typically indicate a high-energy impact or sudden evasive maneuver. Rollover crashes often result in roof intrusion, shattered windows, and the potential for occupants to sustain head, spinal, or internal injuries. Some injuries, particularly neck or back trauma, may not be immediately evident, underscoring the importance of medical evaluation after serious collisions.

Determining fault in these crashes often requires detailed investigation and careful review of police reports, witness statements, and available traffic camera footage. In many cases, multiple drivers share some degree of responsibility, making it essential for victims to seek legal guidance when pursuing compensation.
