Serious Crashes Along Highway 90 in Horry County

Highway 90 is a heavily traveled roadway in Horry County, serving as a key connector for residents, commuters, and visitors traveling between coastal communities and inland areas.

In Horry County, traffic data shows a consistent number of injury-related crashes each year along major corridors like Highway 90. Evening and nighttime crashes are especially concerning due to reduced visibility, glare from headlights, and decreased reaction time.

When a crash impacts a residence, the danger extends beyond vehicle occupants, posing risks to homeowners and nearby pedestrians as well. Additionally, crashes that involve vehicles leaving the roadway and striking parked cars or structures often indicate a sudden loss of control. These incidents can be caused by factors such as speeding, distracted driving, impairment, fatigue, or road conditions.

Investigations into rollover and roadway-departure crashes typically involve analyzing vehicle damage, skid marks, debris patterns, and the surrounding roadway environment.

Troopers may also review whether alcohol, speed, or mechanical issues played a role. And, when property damage is involved, additional assessments are often required to document structural impacts and safety concerns.

For those injured in serious crashes, recovery can be both physically and financially overwhelming. Medical treatment, follow-up care, time away from work, and vehicle replacement costs can quickly add up. Insurance claims involving overturned vehicles and property damage are often complex, and disputes over fault or coverage are common.

A car accident attorney familiar with traffic accidents in South Carolina can help victims understand their rights, preserve critical evidence, and handle communication with insurance companies. Legal guidance may be essential in pursuing compensation for medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and property-related losses.
