Motorcycle Accidents in Longs
Motorcycle crashes continue to be a major safety concern throughout Horry County, particularly in growing communities like Longs. Roads such as Pine Needle Drive and Bruce Drive see a steady mix of residential traffic, local commuters, and vehicles entering from nearby connecting roads. When traffic density increases, the risk of motorcycle-involved collisions rises, especially where visibility is limited or drivers fail to yield.
According to statewide data from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, motorcyclists are significantly more likely to suffer serious or critical injuries when involved in a collision compared to occupants of passenger vehicles.
Common injuries in these crashes include fractures, internal trauma, spinal injuries, and severe road rash, many of which require extended medical care and rehabilitation.
Victims of motorcycle crashes often face a long road to recovery. Beyond physical injuries, they may deal with immediate medical costs, reduced income during recovery, and emotional strain on both themselves and their families.
If a crash is caused by another driver’s negligence, whether due to speeding, failure to yield, or distracted driving, injured riders may have the right to pursue compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
An experienced motorcycle accident attorney can help gather evidence, identify liable parties, negotiate with insurance companies, and ensure that the victim’s rights are protected throughout the claims process. Securing knowledgeable legal support can make a meaningful difference in a victim’s ability to recover physically, financially, and emotionally.
