Serious Highway Crashes in the Loris Area
Highways like East Highway 9 serve as major routes for residents, commuters, and commercial traffic traveling through northern Horry County. With higher speed limits and frequent intersections, crashes along these corridors can quickly become severe, especially when vehicles collide with enough force to cause entrapment.
Incidents involving vehicle confinement often indicate significant structural damage, increasing the risk of serious injuries such as fractures, head trauma, internal injuries, or spinal damage. Extrication operations require trained rescue teams and specialized tools, and they underscore the dangerous nature of these collisions.
In Horry County, serious two-vehicle crashes are often linked to factors such as distracted driving, failure to yield, speeding, or misjudging oncoming traffic. When accidents occur on busy roadways, they not only place occupants at risk but also create hazardous conditions for first responders and other motorists.
