Drivers on Treeland Drive and similar roads throughout Berkeley County are required under South Carolina law to exercise reasonable care to avoid striking pedestrians, especially at night when visibility is limited.
Fatal pedestrian accidents leave families dealing with sudden loss, funeral and burial costs, and the emotional toll of losing a loved one without warning. In cases that involve night driving, questions tend to come up regarding visibility, speed, and whether the driver had time to react.
In fatal accident cases, a wrongful death claim in South Carolina can allow eligible family members to seek compensation for losses connected to their loved one's death.
A wrongful death lawyer who handles a case like this can help by reviewing the investigation's findings, any available lighting or visibility conditions at the time, and witness accounts from the roadway.
