When a driver leaves the scene of a fatal collision in Greenville, SC, investigators work to identify the vehicle and determine what happened before, during, and after the crash.

Even if the driver is not immediately located, evidence gathered during the investigation may help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigators may examine physical evidence from the roadway, vehicle debris, surveillance footage, witness statements, and available electronic data.

In some cases, information from nearby businesses, residences, or passing vehicles can help identify the vehicle involved or confirm the sequence of events.

For surviving family members, preserving documents related to the collision may also be important. Medical records, funeral expenses, insurance correspondence, and other accident-related records can help organize information if questions arise regarding insurance benefits or potential legal matters.

A wrongful death attorney can review the available evidence, explain how South Carolina law may apply, and discuss possible legal options based on the facts of the case.

Legal guidance may also assist families with insurance issues and evaluating potential claims while the investigation continues.
