Three Dead in House Fire on Sterrett St in North Charleston, SC

North Charleston, SC (July 24, 2026) – A fire broke out in a house in the 5200 block of Sterrett Street on Thursday night, July 23. The North Charleston Fire Department responded to the scene around 9:06 p.m. and found three people inside. 

Emergency units arrived and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the single-story home. Crews began CPR on the trapped victims, but the three could not be revived.

A cat inside the home also died in the fire. Emergency units brought the flames under control within 30 minutes.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has not yet released the names of the three who died. Multiple agencies are working together to determine what sparked the blaze.
