Pendleton, SC (July 19, 2026) – Two drivers were trapped and injured in a three-vehicle crash on Old Pendleton Road near Three J Road in Pendleton on Saturday, July 18. Both drivers were unable to leave their vehicles without help.

Emergency units found the two drivers trapped inside separate vehicles. Crews extricated them, and one driver was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

The hospitalized driver remained under evaluation after reaching the hospital. Family members said he was undergoing X-rays for several fractures, although those details have not been publicly confirmed. Details about the other driver’s injuries, the names and ages of those involved, and whether anyone else was hurt remain unavailable.

Old Pendleton Road remained closed near Three J Road while crews removed the damaged vehicles and cleared the roadway. Motorists had to find another route during the closure.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating what caused the collision.

We hope everyone injured makes a full recovery.

Who Pays My Medical Bills After a Three-Vehicle Crash in Pendleton, SC?

Three-Vehicle Wreck Injures Two on Old Pendleton RdThe driver who caused the three-vehicle crash in Pendleton is generally responsible for paying the injured person’s medical bills through liability insurance. When more than one driver shares fault, multiple insurers may divide responsibility for medical expenses and other related losses.

In the days that follow, medical records can document diagnoses, treatment plans, and expenses connected to the collision. These records may help establish how the injuries affected daily life, especially when someone required extrication or hospital evaluation.

Across the Pendleton community, motorists use Old Pendleton Road alongside nearby routes such as US-76 and SC-28. Curves, intersections, and changing traffic speeds can make crashes along these corridors difficult to reconstruct, especially when several vehicles are involved.

After several vehicles collide, investigators may compare driver statements, vehicle damage, roadway evidence, and available camera footage. Insurers may reach different conclusions, making a careful review of each driver’s actions important before responsibility and financial liability are assigned.

Under South Carolina law, compensation may decrease according to an injured person’s share of fault. Someone more than 50 percent responsible generally cannot recover damages, while someone 50 percent or less at fault may recover a reduced amount.

With several insurers involved, sorting out payment can quickly become difficult for an injured person. A car accident lawyer can preserve evidence, review available coverage, calculate losses, and challenge efforts to place an unfair share of blame on one driver.
