Horry County, SC (September 25, 2026) – Two people were hurt on Friday morning, September 25, after a two-vehicle collision at Carolina Forest Boulevard and Canterbury Drive.
The Horry County Fire Rescue was called to the intersection just after 8 a.m. The wreck blocked River Oaks Drive-bound lanes of Carolina Forest Boulevard for a time.
Both people were taken to the hospital. The full scope of their injuries has not been specified.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to look into the cause of the accident.
We hope both people recover quickly and fully.

When a crash involves two vehicles, for example, it is common that each driver blames the other; South Carolina law determines how much either person can recover. The state follows a modified comparative negligence rule, typically called the 51% rule.
Under this rule, a person can seek compensation as long as they were 50% or less responsible for what happened, though any recovery is reduced by their own share of fault.
Compensation depends directly on the fault percentage assigned, so the evidence gathered early can matter a great deal. Police reports, witness statements, traffic camera footage, and the pattern of vehicle damage are usually used to piece together how each driver behaved before the accident happened.
Insurance adjusters may try to assign a larger share of fault to the injured person, which can reduce or eliminate a payout. A car accident lawyer can help gather this evidence, challenge an inflated fault percentage, and present a clearer picture of what happened.
