If you are injured in a car accident in Calhoun County, SC, seeking prompt medical attention should be your first priority.
Even if injuries appear minor, a medical evaluation can help identify conditions that are not immediately noticeable and create records that may be important during an insurance claim.
After receiving medical care, it is helpful to preserve evidence related to the collision. Photographs of the vehicles, roadway, and visible injuries, along with the police report, witness information, repair estimates, and medical records, may help document what happened and the losses associated with the crash.
Additionally, keeping track of accident-related expenses is also important. Medical bills, prescription costs, rehabilitation expenses, lost wages, and communications with insurance companies may all become relevant when pursuing compensation through an insurance claim or other legal process.
The steps that may be available after a South Carolina car accident often depend on the circumstances of the collision, the evidence collected, the parties involved, and the applicable insurance coverage.
Reviewing accident reports, medical documentation, photographs, witness information, and other relevant records with a South Carolina car accident lawyer may help clarify how state law applies and what options may be available.
