The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, who was also traveling alone, was hurt and taken to a hospital for treatment.

State troopers continue to investigate the accident.
Our condolences go out to the family of the driver who lost their life, and we wish a full recovery to the injured driver.

Strong evidence is typically the main difference between a denied claim and a fair settlement after a two-vehicle case on a rural highway. The sooner key details are documented, the easier it becomes to establish what happened and who was responsible.
Initially, a copy of the state trooper's report is usually one of the first pieces of evidence gathered, since it includes basic facts about the vehicles, the roadway, and any citations issued.
Photos of the vehicles, the roadway, and any visible damage can also help show how the case unfolded. Medical records that connect an injury to the case are equally important, since they establish both the diagnosis and the treatment needed.
Witness statements can help confirm details such as speed, right-of-way, or who crossed into the wrong lane. Traffic camera footage, when available, and data from a vehicle's event recorder can also provide an objective account of what took place. A car accident lawyer can help track down these sources of evidence before they are lost or overwritten.
