Loris, SC (January 03, 2026) — Emergency crews responded to a serious two-vehicle crash with confinement on Friday, January 2, in the Loris area, resulting in traffic disruptions and multiple injuries. The collision occurred near the intersection of East Highway 9 and Log Cabin Road.

Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) was called to the crash at approximately 11:03 a.m. Upon arrival, crews discovered that at least one person was trapped inside a vehicle and required extrication. Firefighters quickly deployed specialized rescue equipment to safely remove the trapped occupant.

Emergency medical personnel evaluated those involved, and two people were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. The severity of their conditions has not been publicly released at this time.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash to determine how the collision occurred. The Loris Fire Department and the Horry County Police Department also responded to assist with traffic control, scene safety, and coordination between agencies.
